Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association has joined with the Long Island Woman Suffrage Association and the Local American Association of University Women, New York State and will work with the New York Cultural Heritage Tourism Network to establish a Womens History Trail on Long Island, which will be linked to a 
Women's History Trail throughout 
New York State.

              Legislator Muratore and Staff Help Celebrate Women’s History Month

Selden, NY –Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore’s (R-Ronkonkoma) staff was on hand to acknowledge Women’s History Month at the Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association’s Women’s Suffrage Parade and Celebration. After a historical walk down Main Street in downtown Lake Ronkonkoma, a brunch was served at Flanagan’s Pub.

“It is a pleasure to support the women of today who recognize their predecessors’ courageous efforts for political equality,” stated Legislator Muratore. “I applaud the Heritage Association’s President Ellyn Okvist for commemorating this vital historical event - when women earned the right to vote nearly one century ago!
